Dr. David Clark:
Minimally Traumatic
Dentistry: A Microscopic Perspective
In a unique 3-D format, Dr Clark will introduce minimally
traumatic principles and biomimetics to restorative
dentistry, endo-restorative, and fixed prosthodontics. He
will explore the art of the possible; from precision
porcelain restorations, to biomimetic tooth
reconstruction, and finally exotic class II preparations
to minimize fracturing and to mitigate ‘C factor’.
Synopsis:
Minimally invasive dentistry is a new buzzword but there
is little science behind the actual protocols. Dr Clark
will explore the science of tooth fracturing and pulpal
degeneration; Compelling models for change will then be
shared, based on current restorative materials. The role
of precision porcelain preparations will be demonstrated.
A renaissance in direct resins will also be described. The
clinical micro-photography and 3-D microvideo have been
described as “jaw dropping”
Highlights:
• The Failure Festival
• What is the modern model of crack initiation?
• And how does that affect cavity preparations, endodontic
shaping and axio- gingival reduction for prosthetics.
• What is the definition of ferrule?
• Optimizing soft tissue response.
• Precision Porcelain Preparations
• Why does the pulp in restored teeth misbehave and die in
such an unpredictable fashioned, and often over years or
decades?
• How do advanced magnification and modern materials
transform what we do and how we think? |
