I am honored to serve as the president of this esteemed Academy for the 2011/12 term and I cordially invite you to Halifax, Nova Scotia for the 20th annual meeting which will be held Sept 6-8th, 2012. This Academy is steeped in history and is the culmination of the Canadian Academy of Prosthodontics (CAP) which had its beginnings in 1962 and the Canadian Academy of Restorative Dentistry (CARD) which had its first meeting in 1965. Our name reflects both of these Academies and has remained synonymous with commitment to education and professional development.

These are exciting times for the Academy. The official publication of CARDP is the peer reviewed CJRDP and is now to be published by Ettore Palmeri. We look forward to bringing this publication to more Canadian dentists. The Editorial team, under the strong guidance of Dr. Hubert Gaucher, has brought interesting and thought provoking literature to our members and will continue to do so.

Our website is currently under renovation and when completed will offer to our members and guests a site which is more reflective of this Academy.

I would like to thank all the members of CARDP who give so much to this wonderful organization! We are grateful to have the strong support of our dental industry and look forward to their presence in Halifax. The Atlantic Region members are working to provide an exciting scientific program and strong social program.
